TBF I get your points, I think it can be very frustrating as a content creator to see others do similar content about topics just in an objectively better way (talking about quality) but your point about having to make retrospects, that are multiple hours long I have to disagree. One of the big factors why I found your videos instead of others is, because your retrospective videos on spyro as example are right under one hour long which is the perfect amount of time I'm willing to sacrifice. I personally get scared away from videos which are longer than 1 hour (even TV shows, even if they're good). On the other hand, you said it right in the intro, you cant keep yourself continuesly doing UA-cam, which for me is a sign, that it might just not be the right thing for you anymore and you should spend your creative passion in something else. Sad to say since I really enjoy your videos from time to time. Look out for yourself Tori and do what you have passion for!

Sometimes the algorithm just kills you for no good reason. I have barely over 400 subs and consider it pretty good if I get 5 or 6k views on a video, so I don’t really have a massive amount of experience with this. That said, I know in some of my modded playthroughs of games, occasionally I’ll get a few thousand views in a few days, or sometimes it’ll stall out and it’ll take me weeks to even get a few hundred views. It’s the same game, same sort of content that was successful previously. I think it’s just a matter of the algorithm pushing one video, but not necessarily getting the other one out to the same number of people for whatever technical reason. If the same people actually saw it, I think they’d watch it and like it, they’re just not coming across it. It sucks but I think it’s an algorithm issue more so than a content issue. Personally I discovered your channel earlier this year and really liked the videos you did going over older PS1/PS2 era games and, yeah like a lot of people, I did like the Spyro videos lol

This video is 5y old, but I still have to say that I absolutely I love the story and lore the three games tell us. The gameplay is what drags it down , but I feel like the gameplay is a minor part of the game. If they had done the trilogy in a movie style instead, I feel it would have been a lot more successful

Most people who played Spyro growing up started with the original trilogy...I had this game, A Hero's Tail, and Enter the Dragonfly on my gamecube. This one in particular I spent countless hours beating up apes and throwing them over cliffs using the electric breath with my sister, lol. Lots of great memories attached to this janky game for me💜

Fun fact! Stewart Copeland wasn’t the sole composer for ETD. Instead, 2 guys named Kenneth Burgomaster and Peter Neff helped out and made 90% of the piece, with Stewart finishing the last 10% with his iconic Spyro sounds. The reason they’re unknown is because they go uncredited, and there was a notable push from universal to get Copeland in the game, hence why the people who did the real work go uncredited. It’s also why it sounds so different stylistically. Also I love the music too!!

Only found about your videos today, my algorithm has been spyro stuff pretty often lately and I plan to watch all of your "History of" vids, original spyro was the first game I ever played and I'm glad to see other people talk about one of my favorite games in a similar way to how I think about it. Also, maybe the smiling isn't what they do. Search Wings Of Fire seawing, specifically it's template drawing by Joy Ang. It looks almost goofy, as it basically looks smiling between the menacing other dragon templates. And look then at the cover art from book 2 of the serie: the lost heir. There, the seawing (Tsunami, someone with somewhat of an equal badass aura as Cynder) looks just straightup badass, cool, and terrifying. So, it's probably just the fact that the standard look on the guardian's faces are just somewhat goofy.

I remember this being one of the "random" games I had as a kid. When I wanted to play a PS game that wasn't Spongebob (because I was big on Spongebob when I was younger) I would pick this game up and play it. when I was young, around 5 years old when I played this game, I remember the starting screen and the later levels (haunted house/temple) THEY CREEPED ME OUT SO MUCH!!!! also I only plyed ps1 version so i do prefer that cause of nostalgia, PLUS i like the rainbow portals, i think they added a lot to the ps1 version.

I'm currently playing this game on the PS5 atm. I forgot about those mouses back when i played it on the PS1. I guess i can thank whoever came up with the ingame save on the current gen console. If i miss the mouse on the wall, i just quick load and i'm back ready to jump a second later. Unlike the PS1, you'd have to spend 5 minutes going all the way back up again only to miss over and over again 😒

Even when I was 12 years old, this game looked terrible to me. A friend just had given me all his video games because he was getting another console, but most of them were trashy. I remember playing for about 20 minutes, getting angry, and then switching to Crash Team Racing again.

to be fair, gnasty gnorc didnt die in lava, he was only defeated by spyro's fire breath, so it's far more understandable for him to be alive than for someone like ripto or the sorceress
